Short-Eared Owl Patch

Birders never forget the sight of a “shortie” hunting over grasslands at dusk. Their long, broad wings beat with a mothlike quality in flight. Their tiny ear tufts are difficult to see – but not the bird itself (if you know where to look), since it’s one of the few owl species that hunts during daylight. They’re widespread, but in parts of North America they’ve all but disappeared. 20% of the profits from this patch will support the Grassland Bird Trust, as it works to protect their wintering habitat in upstate New York and beyond. All embroidered bird patches have an iron-on backing, but the adhesive is temporary. For durability, we recommend sewing or using a permanent, flexible fabric glue. Dimensions: 2" wide x 1.75" tall.
